When you see your smile in the mirror or in a picture, are you pleased? Or are there a few characteristics about your smile that you’d like to change? Maybe you’d like a whiter smile, or a smile with teeth that are well-shaped and not misaligned. If this is the case, then you would do well to consider porcelain veneers. Boston Smile Center in Brookline, MA, has dramatically improved the smiles of many people with porcelain veneers and we can do the same for you!
Porcelain veneers are thin layers of dental porcelain designed to correct and conceal the imperfections on your front teeth that mar your smile. Using his patented Ceramel® technique, Dr. Alan Sasson custom designs veneers that mimic the translucency, color, and shape of beautiful, natural teeth.
When you come to Boston Smile Center, Dr. Sasson will meet with you to discuss your smile goals and assess your dental health in order to address any concerns before beginning the porcelain veneers process. In some instances, Dr. Sasson may recommend teeth whitening before veneers, so that your natural teeth will be as white as your new veneers.
Porcelain Veneers in Two Visits
At your first appointment for porcelain veneers from Boston Smile Center, we’ll need to prep your teeth. This requires removing a minor amount of enamel from your front teeth so the veneers adhere well and lay flush with your other teeth. Because the veneers are bonded to the surface of the tooth instead of encompassing the entire tooth as with a crown, only a small amount of enamel is buffed away prior to veneer placement. In cases where gaps need to be closed, no buffing may be necessary.
While your custom designed veneers are fabricated, you’ll wear temporaries for a short time. Then, you’ll return to our office where Dr. Sasson will bond your permanent veneers and artfully trim and polish them to a perfect finish.
