Dr. Alan Sasson

Dr. Alan Sasson has over 35 years of experience in the field of dentistry and has become well known for his skills in cosmetic, restorative, and dental implant treatments. He makes it a point to spend as much time with his patients as they need, taking care to thoroughly inform them about their care and make sure they feel comfortable. With Dr. Sasson at the helm, you can rest assured that your treatment plan will reflect your unique needs and preferences!

After graduating from the Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry at Boston University, Dr. Sasson continued his education by completing advanced training courses and staying up to date with the latest dental research. He has certification in Oral Implantology, for example, and was a faculty member at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, the Forsythe Institute, and the Medical Research Foundation of Boston. Dr. Sasson has even published work in a number of peer-reviewed publications.

Outside of the office, Dr. Sasson likes to encourage professional dental education through the Career in Dental Assisting Institute (which he founded). This boutique teaching facility offers an affordable 10-week program that enables students to become licensed dental assistants in Massachusetts, and also features several Advanced Training modules.

Dr. Avi Shainhouse

Our board-certified periodontist, Dr. Avi Shainhouse, provides expert gum disease treatment and dental implant surgery services. His specialized knowledge enables our practice to help patients with advanced stages of periodontal disease and also allows us to take care of the entire dental implant process in-office. Dr. Shainhouse’s skills are an invaluable addition to our team!

 As a Canadian, Dr. Shainhouse earned his dental degree from the University of Western Ontario. He then went on to complete his specialty education in periodontics at New York University and now has over 10 years of experience. Dr. Shainhouse is a proud member of the American Board of Periodontics and the American Academy of Periodontology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. Ahmed Abugad

We’re happy to welcome Dr. Ahmed Abugad as part of the Boston Smile Center team! He’s passionate about dentistry and caring for his patients’ smiles, firmly believing that everyone deserves good oral health and access to quality treatment. This is also why he emphasizes staying up to date with the latest technologies and treatment methods.

Dr. Abugad has a wealth of unique dental experience. He grew up in Egypt and graduated from the Alexandria University in 2012. While studying there, he also completed the Comprehensive Implantology Program and was a clinical instructor. After working as a dental associate at the Maxillofacial Prosthetic Center in Egypt and as a lead dentist for a practice in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abugad moved to the US and earned his DMD from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Today, Dr. Abugad is a proud member of the Massachusetts Dental Society and the American Dental Association. He has advanced training in CEREC same-day crown technology, is a certified Invisalign provider, and loves improving his patients’ smiles through modern dentistry!
